What you'll be doing
- The rehabilitation day services manager will lead the day-to-day operations of the client, rehabilitation day services. The candidate is responsible for the development of curriculum and schedule for the program consumers, and is available to assist with assessments and clinical services of the client rehabilitation consumers. Principal function is to provide structured clinical program activities or interventions that will assist consumers to develop skills and foster social role integration through a range of social, psycho-educational, behavioral, and cognitive behavioral health interventions.
What your background should be
- Required to be a qualified practitioner of rehabilitation/day services: a psychiatrist; psychologist; LICSW; APRN; RN; LPC; LISW; or addiction counselor in the district of Columbia. Additionally, successful candidate must have at least 3 years of experience working with adults with serious mental illness providing cognitive-behavioral interventions, diagnostic, psychiatric, counseling/psychotherapy, or rehabilitation services and 2 years of experience providing supervision. Experience working in a community based and multi-cultural setting with consumers and knowledge of public mental health services is preferred. Most importantly, the successful candidate must be able to develop effective working relationships with the consumer population, be self-motivated and able to motivate others, be able to relate to individuals making significant life decisions, possess strong organizational skills, and have strong oral and written communication skills. The individual must also be computer proficient and able to make decisions and manage a team independently. S/he must possess effective time management skills in order to meet consistently the productivity goals set forth for this position. Selected incumbent must possess a valid driving license.
