What you'll be doing

Apply, adopt or develop appropriate statistical tools for the analysis of human genetic data and/or transcription data. Ensure completeness, correctness and integrity of datasets and analyses. Prepare statistical summaries and assist in interpreting analytic results. Univariate and multivariate analysis in SAS and/or participate in the development and testing of novel statistical methods for genetic data. Attend scheduled laboratory meetings. Work with the lab PI to provide analysis and interpretations for regulatory reviews related to data access, grant applications and manuscript preparation. Review and revise drafts of abstracts/manuscripts for journal/meeting submission. Accurately estimate time lines and resources needed to meet objectives. Consult with the PI and other contributors to refine or adapt methodologies to fit research requirements.

What your background should be

Experience with large data sets, such as those used in GWAS and large cohort studies. Experience with statistical aspects of study design, including power calculations. Ability to communicate statistical concepts and data analysis interpretations to non-statisticians. Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated expertise in team oriented environments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in statistical programming environments such as SAS, R, PERL or JMP and ability to work in UNIX operating system.

Required Schooling / Training

Master degree or PhD in a statistical analysis field.
