What you'll be doing

Under the direction of the director, supervisor or senior therapist is responsible and accountable for the performance of all respiratory modalities including but not limited to: administration of respiratory medications via hand held nebulizer, IPPB or inline via a mechanical ventilator or during non-invasive ventilation. Perform arterial blood gas puncture and analysis, oxygen therapy, invasive and non-invasive ventilator management. Assists physician with performing bronchoscopy, changing of tracheostomy tubes when ordered. Provide patient education, initiate and update patient care plan. Provide infant, pediatric and adult life saving efforts. RCP shall perform other related duties as assigned or requested such as but not limited to stocking of supplies or cleaning and set-up of equipment.

What your background should be

Current certification (CRT) or registration (RRT) by the national board for respiratory care, current california licensed respiratory care practitioner, current certification by the AHA or red cross in basic cardiac life support and current PALS (pediatric advanced life support program) certification within 90 days from hire date.

Required Schooling / Training

Associate in respiratory therapy.
