What you'll be doing

Develops and maintains processes that maximize collections of fees and coordinates all aspects of the revenue cycle. Demonstrates through plans and actions that there is a consistent standard of excellence to which all departmental work is expected to conform. Supervises the clinical billing staff, specifically billing coordinators and project coordinator. Works collaboratively with hospital (UH), OCHIN, Skylakes Cascades East, clinicians, residents, residency and medical directors, practice managers, clinic staff and coders in areas in which revenue cycle procedures impact and overlap with clinical operations in all practice sites. Maintains and fosters excellent pay or relations with key fiscal intermediaries, government oversight agencies and contracted health plans. Partners with practice managers and staff to ensure assignments are completed and to assist with problem solving and strategic planning. Collaborates with contracting office, UMG and OCHIN to expand knowledge of the reimbursement practices of insurers to establish departmental processes to maximize insurer performance. Provides leadership, guidance, training to the DFM front-end process staff. Generates and monitors revenue cycle reports identifying areas for improvement and education. Develops and conducts continuing education and training sessions for staff and faculty to ensure accurate billing procedures as well as tracking provider reimbursement trends. Provides leadership in process improvement using LEAN principles.

What your background should be

Five to seven years of experience in physician practice management and managing major components of the revenue cycle. Strong experience with billing and collection, including patient contact. Demonstrated public speaking and training experience. Knowledge of current CMS regulations related to coding and documentation. Current knowledge of commercial and patient billing. Demonstrated evidence of superior written, verbal and public relations communications skills.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor's degree.
