What you'll be doing

This position is responsible for providing engineering services to optimize equipment life and plant profitability. The incumbent will ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with all concerned procedures. Formulate, implement, maintain, and audit preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive diagnostic maintenance (PDM) programs. Analyze historical, PM and PDM data and make recommendations for reliability improvement and failure avoidance. Coordinate root cause analysis (RCA) processes and track the implementation of recommendations through resolution. Utilize reliability tools such as failure calculations, failure evaluations, and cost and risk analysis to evaluate and prioritize reliability issues. Participate in audits to measure the effectiveness of reliability related activities such as equipment repairs, part quality, and failure investigation processes. Assist operations, product control, and maintenance departments in developing procedures, training, and processes to ensure equipment is operated within its design parameters. Review equipment specifications and standards and develop recommendations for reliability improvement. Develop cost justification for reliability improvement. Identify and maintain an active top ten high impact-refinery equipment list. Train on new technologies and methods for maintaining equipment to increase reliability. Assist in spare parts review for ensuring equipment maintainability and availability. Perform other activities as assigned by the management team.

What your background should be

Minimum of three years experience in refinery related positions with exposure and responsibilities in the maintenance area, including rotating equipment, vibration analysis, instrument and electrical fundamentals preferred. Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, and electronic required. Applicant requires having the ability to manage multiple activities and prioritize tasks with minimal direction or oversight; knowledge of root cause analysis and very strong troubleshooting capability; and proven safety experience/training and leadership. Applicant must possess skills in PC workstation, windows and lotus-windows.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree required. Major in mechanical engineering preferred.
