What you'll be doing

Drive a vehicle to pick-up, deliver, and properly store specimens and other materials with assigned route or on as needed basis. Stock supplies as needed and may be required to perform route audits. Communicate appropriately with clients, coworkers, and time public. Ensure all specimens are collected accurately and on time. Collect specimens according to established procedures. Package specimens for transport; maintain required records and documentation. Read, understand, and comply with the departmental policies, protocols, and procedures: (i.e. Procedure manuals, safety manual, compliance manual, automobile policies, and procedures, employee handbook, quality assurance manual). Adhere to departmental and company code of grooming and dress code policies, appearing neat and clean at all times. Report on time to work, following attendance guidelines. Keep vehicle area neat and clean. Dispose of biohazard containers when scheduled. Communicate all unresolved problems immediately to the appropriate manager, supervisor, or group leader for resolution.

What your background should be

The candidate should have 1 to 3 years of previous driving experience. Valid state driving license with clean driving record. Prior knowledge of medical specimens and/or medical supplies is helpful. Good customer service skills necessary. Prior medical courier experience and prior customer service experience is helpful. Prior knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is desired. Knowledge of multiple routes to back up assigned driving is required. Ability to follow instructions; ability to read a map; ability to read and write English. Pick-up and deliver stat specimens required.

Required Schooling / Training

High school diploma or equivalent.
