What you'll be doing
- Order all products for the seafood department. Perform all duties and responsibilities of a seafood supervisor and team member. Follow and uphold all freshness standards as designated by regional protocol. Work with teams to create displays and work with store leadership and regional coordinators on ideas for displays, signage and driving sales. Seek out new and exciting seafood products and create and negotiate price bids. Maintain a good working relationship with vendors, the regional seafood team and participate in regional promotional programs. Control spoilage, achieve margin goals, and support the team leader and associate team leader in conducting inventories. Maintain financial profitability by meeting and exceeding margin and sales targets. Maintain accurate purchase journals and process invoices and credits. Educate customers and team members about seafood products. Maintain a clean and organized back stock area. Provide excellent customer service. Maintain a safe and sanitary department.
What your background should be
- Seafood experience required. Excellent cutting/ filetting skills. Knowledge of a variety of seafood and cooking techniques. Demonstrated ability in knife handling and use of other cutting equipment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good organizational skills. Knowledge of and a desire to learn about natural and organic foods and products. Available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the department.
