What you'll be doing

Performs the full scope of varied court clerical work involved in case processing in Minnesota court information system (MNCIS) or other related computer systems; use of document imaging system; use of electronically filed documents; determines processing requirements and takes necessary action in accordance with court rules and procedures; schedules court hearings and determines proper routing of documents. Reviews MNCIS and other reports and implements appropriate corrective actions. Performs courtroom clerical duties; prepares calendar, cases files and forms for court; checks people in and calls the calendar; coordinates with justice partners; administers oaths to interpreters and witnesses; takes court minutes; schedules court dates for next appearance; arranges and organizes the calendar, notes continuances, makes minute to reflect case progress; prepares and processes court orders. Participates in and coordinate the scheduling and calendaring of hearings, continuances, trials and other matters; sends out notices; makes appropriate record entries; organizes/manages a judge individual block calendar by scheduling and appropriately calendaring all assigned cases, including the practice of contacting attorneys and parties concerning scheduling. Maintains overall case management of the judge calendars; monitors monthly case pending, under advisement, and event review reports and implements appropriate action. Contacts attorneys or parties of the case to seek action or information regarding the file status.

Knowledge of legal terminology; knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. Ability to read and interpret legal documents of varying type and complexity. Ability to make decisions in accordance with laws, regulations, and departmental policies and procedures. Ability and willingness to work in a high-volume, detailed and fast-paced work environment. Ability to take direction well and maintain a professional and positive attitude through challenging circumstances. Ability to work under pressure assuring timeliness and accuracy. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters and records appropriately and in compliance with all applicable court rules, policies and statutes.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree.
