What you'll be doing

Confirm database (DB) backup schedule with business. Consult and work with SaaS application group to develop and maintain a high performing, secure, scalable database design. Validate backup job for completion. Establish business supported schedule for database backup testing. Optimize existing maintenance plan and create new as necessary. Maintain SQL agent job for accuracy and efficiency. Maintain existing DTS package accuracy and efficiency. Ensure proper execution of all SQL agent job and DTS package. Maintain crone job for functionality and efficiency. Ensure proper execution of all necessary scheduled job. Configure DB indexing as necessary. Configure audit setting as necessary. Maintain existing backup and restore procedure, update as necessary. Establish backup and restore testing schedule. Validate backup and restore procedure and schedule. Ensure uptime, performance, reliability, scalability, security and high availability of database environment. Maintain existing SSRS or SSIS server deployment. Validate configuration for efficiency. Ensure functionality of the existing report. Ensure proper security access is established and enforced. Maintain existing report usage and efficiency. Maintain process specific to creation of report for new customer. Provide recommendation on moving forward strategy once adequate data is gathered. Maintain existing usage of the MSSQL as it pertain to the enterprise wide usage. Maintain existing data porting mechanism. Maintain feasibility of continuing using MSSQL versus another scalable solution. Provide recommendation on moving forward strategy once adequate data is gathered.

What your background should be

Minimum 15 years experience administering MYSQL and MS SQL. Expert knowledge of DBA tasks in SQL server. Must be able to perform installations, tuning and optimization, monitoring, maintenance, backup or restore, troubleshooting, data replication, disaster recovery & business continuity and trend or growth analysis. Oracle experience a plus. Minimum 5 years of experience with data security techniques or measures, including user and role permissions and auditing and restricting SQL access. Ability to develop or employ tools that proactively identify database issues and resolve issues. Experience with SSRS, SSIS and large data warehouses. Experience supporting 24x7 production environments. Extensive experience supporting an environment ensuring uptime and availability (replication, clustering, mirroring, etc.) and developing and managing data flows within the environment (archiving, business reporting, data warehouses, etc.). Ability to quickly mitigate issues and perform root cause analysis in high pressure situations. Able to clearly communicate with IT and business (individual and team). Sharp attention to detail, ability to provide excellent customer service, flexibility and adaptability, excellent communications skills including technical documentation and soft communications skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff up to executive officer.
