What you'll be doing
- The Senior Manager of International Business Development (BD) is responsible for directs marketing/sales activities of products and services to government agencies or private firms doing business with the government. Maintains key marketing/sales contacts with both domestic and foreign civilian and military personnel. Directs the development of short and long range objectives aligned with the rest of the organization and recommends goals to higher management. Advice higher management on status or action required in connection with existing and potential sales programs. Performs analyses in the areas of product preferences, potentials, sales coverage, market size, penetration, marketing practices and trends, and prepares forecasts and recommendations. Identifies, develops, and implements near-term and long-term business strategies relating to the development of new products, technologies, services, follow-on products and industries. Develops business models and determines market trends to substantiate long-term prospects. Identifies markets, licensing opportunities, and determines the feasibility of business and product development. Identify, prioritize, and categorize any strategic and tactical opportunities relevant to support pipeline business development. Perform economic analyses on new or improved product opportunities and report metrics on a routine basis. Lead Capture teams on international pursuits. Coordinates with internal departments to identify and implement BD projects. Develops and disseminates information on a continuous basis to all pertinent parties concerning the fulfillment of project goals and objectives. Establish and maintain key U.S. and International business contacts critical to successful international business development. Other duties as assigned.
What your background should be
- 10+ years experience in the global aerospace and defense industry, minimum of 5 years in a management role, electro-optics industry experience preferred. U.S. citizenship required. The ability to clearly and simply articulate compelling business opportunities both written and verbal, must have a strong command of the English language, multi-lingual skills preferred. Excellent global network with a proven ability to build successful, long-term, customer relationships, experience living and working abroad beneficial. A deep understanding of U.S. Government export rules and regulations as stipulated by the State International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Well-versed in the rules and regulations of both Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Foreign Military Funding (FMF). Proven ability to close complex business agreements including teaming, off-set and co-production, a deal maker. Strong management skills including planning, organizing for results, managing projects and both leading and evaluating people. Superior research, analytical, and negotiating skills. An orientation to details and the ability to make quick, informed decisions a creative problem solver. Strong analytical, motivational and negotiating skills with a high performance standard and a keen bias-for-action. Willingness to take ownership, accept accountability and thrive under pressure. Proven ability to interact and influence customers and team member at all organizational levels, ability to manage effectively both upward and downward.
Required Schooling / Training
- Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Engineering or other related field. Master or MBA preferred.
