What you'll be doing

The senior strategic advisor will develop and refine the company short and long-term business strategy and strategic positions. The candidate will provide strategic and competitive intelligence. The incumbent will work directly with staff and senior leadership across the company to identify and prioritize strategic intelligence needs to create meaningful and actionable outputs, drive the strategic development process to address these needs, and integrate the activities of individuals from all functional groups that are responsible for gathering, analyzing and disseminating intelligence. Consolidate research, authorship of key findings, and communication of timely, periodic strategic intelligence reports to senior management and board of trustees. Review operating and business plan to ensure strategic goals expressed in alignment with directives; validate actions/objectives presented that will drive the business to achieve expressed goals. Support the development of external innovative corporate strategic partnerships and relationships with other industry associations. Work with key management staff in articulating and creating an area-specific strategic agenda linked to the corporate vision, mission, and strategy. Communicate and coordinate awareness to drive culture change and adoption of innovation as a key to future success for the business. S/he will design and develop the innovation program for the company as its offering, how internal and external support of innovation enablement delivered, and defining the success points of the program. Liaise with internal stakeholders to identify, plan and execute innovation efforts. Partner with internal clients to better understand what problems they are trying to solve, help them articulate their vision and define success. Prescribe methods and resources to support their execution of those plans. Act as an internal consultant to enabling their success. Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

What your background should be

Depending on educational qualification, this job requires 4 to 6 years of experience in strategic development, strategic planning, business development, market development, and general corporate affairs. The candidate must have significant direct experience contributing to the analysis of a company needs and development of innovation strategies as well as serving as a liaison to senior business executives, internal and external, and other outside advisors. Some experience in a start up environment, entrepreneurial setting, R&D or business development role required. S/he should have the experience of implementing complex business issues; and serving as a change agent within a corporation. The incumbent should have experience preferably in a corporate, health care, or professional setting. Experience creating new products/solutions and bringing them to market preferred. Experience leading teams, formally or informally is preferred. The incumbent should have versatile learner with the ability to embrace change and enjoy the challenge of unfamiliar tasks, ability to think creatively and strategically while handling difficult and complex issues, and ability to meet time deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities. S/he should have excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent initiative and interpersonal skills, and strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills. Qualified candidate should have the understanding of logic and causal relationships and experience conducting relevant research.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree, master degree preferred.
