What you'll be doing

The responsible person will ensure database availability and stability; performance tuning and optimization; participate in application development deployments; and assists in development lifecycle. Major duties and functions include: manages the maintenance of Sybase or Mongo DB environments including backups, healthchecks, applying fixpacks, monitoring, capacity management, performance tuning, and upgrading. Manages the design and distribution, performance, replication, security, availability (HA) solutions for large complex databases. Participates in disaster recovery exercises. On-call coverage required.

What your background should be

5+ years of experience in database and database internals. Experience in Sybase versions 12, 15, replication server, high availability solutions like HACMP, ASE clustering. Working knowledge of technologies impacting database solutions including storage and replication. 3+ years of experience in operating systems Unix and AIX, Solaris and Linux and Windows. 3+ years knowledge of Scripting in perl and shell. Sybase certification. Experience in Mongo database. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree in computer science, information systems or related field, or 8 years equivalent work experience.
