What you'll be doing

Installs and maintains multi-platform software, hardware and databases and maintains multi-platform software to specified version or release levels, ensuring availability and efficiency. Ensures procedures are documented for future problem tracking and reference for future installation and maintenance projects. Analyzes failures of multi-platform software, hardware and databases and implements corrective procedures for these failures with detailed problem tracking documentation. Assist with the set-up and deployment of new hardware or software. Provides backup and recovery procedures for multi-platform software, hardware and databases and ensures documentation of procedures are established to ensure disaster recovery functions. Captures and reports asset information in accordance with established procedures. Provides 24-hour, 7-day on-call support, as needed. May require some travel to sites within the health system. Performs departmental administrative tasks, such as writing status reports on time, keeping the director of infrastructure. Proactively monitors end user application environment taking necessary actions to prevent interruptions of end user work. Assists with special projects as necessary.

What your background should be

3 to 5 years experience in server administration and support for large scale computer systems environment. Server engineer specializing around HP-UX or AIX. Ability to assist computing and storage manager in the following: work in a fast-paced support environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of Microsoft server 2008, 2013 network, LAN and telecommunications experience. Strong customer service skills, including excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated technical aptitude with strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot problems. Excellent decision making and problem solving skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and comfortable working with people at all levels of the organization. Well organized, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks at a time. Able to learn new hardware and software technology quickly. Able to lift 50 pounds. Able to handle irate end users.

Required Schooling / Training

4 years degree.
