What you'll be doing
- Responsible for defining, developing, integrating and delivering firmware to improve disc drive cost, quality and performance. The engineer will be responsible for embedded real-time firmware architecture and sub-systems, control system design, programming in embedded C, failure analysis. Uses logic analyzers, scopes, trace tools, servo data collection and debug tools, data and failure analysis techniques to identify and correct problems either within servo subsystem or other drive subsystems. Understands and can apply PID, state space, H-infinity, controllers, notch filters, estimators, bode plots, and electrical mechanical interaction. Writes scripts to capture data of interest. Deciphers emulator code trace in C to perform root cause failure analysis and corrective action validation.
What your background should be
- Course work with C and/or Matlab. Experience with HDD servo systems, servo electronics, Firmware and Hardware architectures, tools, and system trade-offs is also desirable. Leadership and teamwork abilities while working with a cross-functional and diverse team in the pursuit of excellence.
Required Schooling / Training
- Master degree in Electrical Engineering
