Software Configuration Management Engineer

What you'll be doing: In this position, the candidate will be required to assist in the formulation and implementation of the overall direction, vision, and architecture of software configuration management and help to drive the transformation to Agile work-flows utilizing best-in-class integrated tool suites. The candidate must have a thorough understanding of various SCM systems and architectures, including centralized and distributed systems. The successful candidate will work within an existing SCM team and will be responsible for the ongoing administration and support of 12K engineering clients distributed globally across 20+ development sites. Responsible for ongoing administration and support of existing SCM systems, ongoing and on-call support of engineering clients, development, documentation and implementation of administration, automation and support strategies for SCM systems.

What your background should be: Knowledge and understanding of SCM systems in use at company to include git, subversion, and clear-case will be beneficial. In addition, the candidate should ideally be knowledgeable in Agile development, continuous build, continuous integration and other development practices and methodologies and the tools that support them. Proven track record in administration of SCM systems within an enterprise environment. Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid software development process. Excellent written and oral communications skill. Proficiency in the Unix/Linux/Windows environments/system administration. Candidate must be proficient in scripting, networking, large-scale systems administration, performance tuning, debugging Linux-based applications and working in a distributed environment.
