What you'll be doing

Speech clinician/therapist will work with people who cannot produce speech sounds or cannot produce them clearly. Those with speech rhythm and fluency problems, such as stuttering; people with voice disorders, such as inappropriate pitch or harsh voice; those with problems understanding and producing language. The incumbent will design, develop and evaluate speech and language therapy services for an individual education plan (IEP) to meet the specific needs of students who qualify for speech and language therapy services. The role can involve working with a diverse client group, including people with physical and learning disabilities, hearing loss/deafness, psychiatric disorders or dementia.

What your background should be

The applicant must have a current certificate of clinical competency from the American speech/language hearing association. Must hold current department of health services (DHS) licensure. Arizona department of education speech language pathology certificate and IVP fingerprint clearance card. Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles) or proof of MMR immunization.

Required Schooling / Training

Master or more advanced degree from an accredited institution in speech pathology or communication disorders.
