What you'll be doing

Provide diagnostic, remedial, and consultative service for student with receptive expressive communicative disorder; assist in the identification of student who are at risk because of educational, physical or mental limitation; assist in the development of the assessment process and written procedure; complete the educational related or early intervention assessment which include student observation, record review, interview, standardized and nonstandard testing procedure in the area of suspected disability according to specific timeline; prepare an assessment report according to specific timeline; participate as a member of the individualized education program in the determination of appropriate treatment; develop long and short term goal and objective; develop and implement a therapy intervention plan designed to enable the student to benefit from special education; student service may be conducted on an individual or group basis in the least restrictive environment; maintain record, material, equipment and other treatment supply; remain current with approach, methodology and research in the field to foster professional growth and educationally related practice; and acquaint principal, teacher, other personnel, and parent with speech language service.

What your background should be

At least one year school experience desirable. Possession of a valid nevada teaching license in speech and language impairment. Knowledge of using the peabody picture vocabulary test, test of language development, clinical evaluation of language fundamental, test for auditory comprehension of language. Possession of a valid state of nevada driving license with a driving record acceptable to the district. Communicating effectively both orally and in writing.

Required Schooling / Training

Masters degree in the area of speech language pathology is required or bachelor degree is required.
