What you'll be doing

The senior financial analyst role expands the traditional analyst role to data analysis, review and often presentation to senior leadership groups. The goal of this position is to support the organization in financial, operational and strategic planning goals. Coordinating with the finance managers and directors, this person serves to mentor other finance staff. Require in-depth professional knowledge and practical/applied expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines within the broader professional field. Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead projects with manageable risks and resource requirements. Solve complex problems and take a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies. Work independently, receives minimal guidance. Explain difficult or sensitive information; work to build consensus.

What your background should be

Minimum 3-5 years of related experience required. Specific knowledge, skills, and abilities. Work with operational leaders to advance hospital-wide initiatives (5-year plan, budgetary recovery efforts, etc.). Develop internal analytical tools in support of leaders information requests. Run simulation analyses on scenarios to evaluate proposed business plans. Develop a thorough knowledge of the internal and external data systems that are utilized in the finance area. Participate in the financial liaison program by acting as a key resource for assigned operational areas. Prepare strategic financial analyses including trending data, demographics, market share, product lines and physician information. Assist in the implementation of a formal ongoing financial management education program for operational managers.

Required Schooling / Training

Graduate or professional work or advanced degree preferred.
