Store Associate

What you'll be doing: As a Store Associate, the incumbent will be exposed to a fast paced, physically demanding environment that emphasizes customer service and production of donations. The successful candidate will be greeting and assisting donors, sorting and quality selection of donated goods, providing security of merchandise. He/she will help donors and transportation personnel unload the donations and bring into the store, hang clothes; sort and quality selects apparel and affixes price tags, provide excellent customer service, transport merchandise to sales floor, stock shelves, rotate and display merchandise, operate the cash register. What your background should be: Minimum of six months experience in a retail store operating a cash register, counting money and making change preferred. Experience in a used goods or retail store would be helpful. Knowledge of a wide variety of products in order to ensure items are complete and of good value, ability to realistically assess values of merchandise, ability to make quick decisions regarding merchandise quality, ability to work with a minimum of supervision, ability to give good customer service and be pleasant, friendly and polite, ability to meet physical demands of job (lift a minimum of 35 pounds, stand for long periods at a time; bend, reach and stretch repeatedly during a shift), ability to read, write and speak English and have a basic math aptitude, ability to follow written or verbal instructions. Must be able to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends) and must be willing to transfer to other stores as requested.
