What you'll be doing
- Set up sterile table assuring appropriate supply, drug, and equipment are available. Participate with registered nurse in counting all sponge, instrument at appropriate time during the surgical procedure. Assist in draping patient. Assist surgical team member with gowning and gloving. Assure aseptic condition is maintained by the scrubbed surgical team throughout the procedure. Provide for patient safety by actively participating in the intraoperative timeout. Utilize other safety measure such as safety belt, positioning device and alarm. Collect, identify and label specimen removed during surgical procedure; give specimen to circulator for disposition per surgeon instruction. Perform other duty as assigned.
What your background should be
- One year clinical experience preferred. Require full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity and eye hand coordination. Completion of an accredited surgical technology program or licensed practical nurse.
Required Schooling / Training
- Associates degree preferred
