What you'll be doing
- The Systems Analyst will provide leadership in the end to end design, development and delivery of technology enabled applications, products and services. Responsible for meeting development schedules and delivering high quality solutions that meet technical specifications and design requirements. Ensure systems alignment to enterprise architecture policies and best practices; ensure that process methodologies are followed in system development. Oversee creation and approval of technical documentation including the solution definition document and technical design document; ensure documentation is aligned to the functional requirements. Lead projects as Product Owner and / or Scrum Master using SCRUM methodology. Provide planning estimation, scheduling, prioritization and coordination of technical activities related to system development. Identify and manage dependencies and downstream impacts of the projects to minimize adverse effects in other projects and / or programs. Manage day to day technical challenges and communicate to project manager any risks or issues associated with the development activities. Assist project manager with the estimation of technical time lines and allocation of the technical resources to specific tasks. Coordinate coding and unit testing phases of system development sand facilitate code reviews. Identity opportunities for system reuse and system simplification. Communicate expectations, roles and responsibilities to team members and hold them accountable to meet expectations. Collaborate with IT partners to devise capacity plan and ensure appropriate infrastructure for the end to end system delivery.
What your background should be
- Minimum of 5 years direct work experience in a buy side Asset Management area as a Business Analyst capacity. Must have knowledge of IT front, middle and back office processes and investment performance measurement systems. Experience in implementing/integrating the following investment supporting systems: Oracle Business Intelligence, Eagle Pace. Strong familiarity with the vendor systems for risk/quantitative business including: Axioma, Barclays (POINT), FactSet, MSCI (Barra), SunGard (APT) and / or Thomson Reuters (Starmine and WorldScope). Experience working at above firms. Any progress towards CFA certification will be a plus.
Required Schooling / Training
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related degree, MBA or similar advanced degree is a plus.
