What you'll be doing

This position is a program specific position. The program is required to develop, manufacturer, and test a large composite concept aircraft. The concept aircraft will integrate mature 747-400 Powerplants, Pneumatic system components and APU hardware are being integrated into the new airframe. Generation and maintenance of installed propulsion system, Pneumatic system and auxiliary power unit system requirements and associated verifications including generation of verification plans, test plans, test procedures, test cards, test reports, and verification analyzes. Generation of installed propulsion system, Pneumatic system and auxiliary power unit system design and analyzes: electrical, mechanical, electro mechanical, installation, interfaces, environmental, etc. Interface with program assigned electrical engineers and customer engineers for aircraft installed propulsion systems components and wiring. Responsible for the review and release of system electrical block diagrams, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Interface with program assigned mechanical engineers, design engineers, and customer engineers for the mechanical/structural integration and installation of propulsion, Pneumatic, and APU system components into the airframe. Responsible for the review and release of system mechanical block diagrams, detail drawings, assembly drawings and installation drawings. Generate and coordinate system interfaces including fuel, Pneumatics, electrical power, mechanical, structural, controls, indications etc. Specify, control and coordinate Powerplant, Pneumatic system and APU system aircraft controls and indications. Generate system operating instructions including normal, abnormal, and emergency procedures.

What your background should be

4 -8 years related experience. Require aircraft mechanical-electrical systems engineering experience. Generate and maintain Interface control documents/drawings as required. Proficient in systems engineering, integration, installation, test and supportability of large commercial aircraft Powerplants, APU, and Pneumatic systems. Basic knowledge of commercial aircraft turbofan engines, and installed performance. Basic knowledge of commercial aircraft air breathing APUs and installed APU performance. Basic knowledge of commercial aircraft pneumatic systems. Basic knowledge in aircraft system electrical schematics and wiring diagrams evaluation and generation. Knowledge of 14 CFR part 25 regulations specifically pertaining to the Propulsion system, fuel system, Pneumatics system and APU design. Effective verbal and written communicator. Versed in technical writing and presentations. Motivated problem solver and troubleshooter. Proficient in PC use including Microsoft Office products. Basic knowledge and use of Microsoft Visio. Basic knowledge of system analysis tools: Matlab, Excel, Flowmaster. Basic knowledge of 2D/3D CAD modeling programs: CATIA V5, SolidWorks, AutoCad.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelors degree required. Master degree and PhD degree preferred.
