What you'll be doing

The system engineer is a customer facing role responsible to design, development, integration, documentation, and testing of a high speed (10 Gbps+) network intelligence platform based on state of the art commercial network sensors. This includes equipment integration, custom high-speed script development, test analysis/reporting, and system deployment on an operational government network. Design and execute tests including scripting network test equipment such as breaking point and custom Tilera application. Facilitate security test team and implement mitigations to address findings. Coordinate with team and vendors to assess results and improve performance. Design experiments, extract test data, and analyze captured network packet data. Develop site integration plan and support operational deployment. Perform other duties as assigned.

What your background should be

Minimum 5 years of experience in related field is required. Experience with packet analysis and network protocol dissection tools like Ethereal or Wireshark desired. Scripting language (Bash, Python, Ruby, etc.) for automating data extraction, analysis, and tests. Knowledge of best practices for data center integration; knowledge of network device performance testing. Ability to learn system hardware baseline and setup/test system for factory acceptance test (FAT). Project management and communication skills.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor/master degree.
