What you'll be doing
- Actively communicate with quantitative analysts and modelers to understand and to document models for portfolio analysis. Develop high quality code that is efficient (fast), supportable and follows industry best practices. Design, develop and test software to implement the above models using SAS, mathematical/statistical/financial libraries as well as procedural, object-oriented and scripted language. Solve complex software engineering challenges to efficiently process large amounts of data within the context of highly analytic, mathematical processes. Coordinate and support the testing of models with QA team. Increase operational efficiency and effectiveness by reviewing processes and when possible automate the execution of quantitative models and analytic components to ensure efficient and timely data generation. Implement and tests SAS solutions. Gather requirements for implementation of SAS solutions and produces appropriate project documentation including schedules, systems requirements, technical designs and testing plans and results. Interface directly with development and organizational groups in support of software and production releases.
What your background should be
- Required license or certification SAS base programmer/SAS advanced programmer certificate is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience with SAS and familiar with base SAS (9.2 and 9.4), Macros, SAS SQL and enterprise guide with 1 to 2 years of senior developer role. Minimum of 3 years software development related to quantitative models/analytics components must be needed. 2 to 3 years of supervisory/managerial experience is required. Moderate knowledge of statistical distributions and calculations and basic understanding of matrix calculation required. Demonstrated strengths in problem solving, planning and organizing and initiative, highly self-motivated, results oriented and capable of independent and critical thinking and problem solving, familiar with relational databases (Oracle, DB2, SQL) and store procedures is required. Prior hands on working experience with SAS business intelligence applications for reporting/analytics and SAS information map studio are strongly preferred. Experience of working in BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance) domain and solid background in UNIX is needed.
Required Schooling / Training
- Master/Advanced Degree in quantitative field and Bachelor Degree in computer science or engineering is required.
