What you'll be doing

Supervises the planning, construction, storage and maintenance of theatrical properties for the universities. Produces and maintains build schedule. Constructs props from designers, drawings or directors requirements. Purchases props from designers drawings or directors requirements. Designs, plans and executes unusually complex properties from available resources. Maintains inventory and records of properties storage area, shop tools and equipment. Maintains and repairs shop equipment, stock and related items. Attends and participates in appropriate meetings in the absence of the properties supervisor, to include production meetings and weekly staff meetings as assigned. Oversees, supervises, evaluates and trains the areas support staff and students. Attends monthly all staff meetings. Attends weekly meeting with properties supervisor.

What your background should be

Minimum four years of theatre production experience is required. Supervisory experience. Experience effectively supervising unskilled students. Experience training unskilled students. Demonstrated positive attitude, flexibility with working assignments, and a willingness to learn and adapt. Demonstrated excellent organizational skills.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree.
