What you'll be doing

The technical support representative may be expected to perform some or all of the duties listed. Assist customers with technical questions. Assist technicians with technical questions. Assist internal customers with technical questions. Collaborate with tech support personnel. Schedule branch service calls. Upload or download all types of panels. Assist with training tech support personnel. Perform special projects assigned to the department. Resolve branch no-shows by negotiating with client and branch office to secure priority reschedule appointments. Reroute misdirected calls to the appropriate department.

What your background should be

The individual in this position must have excellent alarm panel and computer knowledge. The individual in this position must have the knowledge of and ability to operate from established and well-known procedures. Knowledge of overall company functions, including sales, ordering, collections and service. Skills must have excellent alarm technology skills, including troubleshooting, installation, monitoring and programming. Decision making skills and independent judgments are important to this position. There is continuous need for strong interpersonal, communication, creativity and people skills. Customer service skills and patience are key to assisting irate customers and foreign language customers. Continuous use of discretion is necessary. Requires constant reading, writing, speaking and understanding of the english language. This job involves continuous talking and listening. This job involves continuous sitting and repetitive motions of hands and wrists. Frequent standing, walking and bending are necessary as well. Typing of about 25 wpm and computer knowledge, including downloading programs. Basic math skills are also required.
