What you'll be doing

Issue tools and test equipment. Monitor the tool calibration schedule. Clean and maintain the tools stored in the tool crib and maintains an organized and safe tool room. Perform an inventory of the tools in the storage room and prepare inventory reports for the supervisor. Keep records of tools issued to and returned by workers. Visually inspect tools for wear or defect and report damaged or worn-out equipment to superiors. May attach identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment using electric marking tool. Perform various duties by phone, written and/or computer such as order, marking, issue tools, portable/durables, materials and maintaining records of crib transactions. Count and analyze incoming/outgoing tools or materials for correct type and quantity. Check tools, materials and calibration records for any inspection criteria upon receiving and releasing. Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory. Issue and monitor AGSE for current inspection and serviceability.

What your background should be

Minimum one year experience working in a tool room support position or equivalent with background in common tool room procedures. Familiar with various tools and their repair and maintenance. Possess basic math skills and inventory skills. Computer skills in order to transact tools. Frequently lifts parts and equipment up to 20 pounds. Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be knowledgeable and in military maintenance operations, safety, standardization, technical inspections and instructions. Understand the use of barcode readers. Understand military hazardous material management system.
