What you'll be doing: Becoming a Military Technician allow the incumbent to experience the better of two worlds by taking advantage of the opportunity to become a citizen soldier in the US Army Reserve Military Technician program. These enable the person to receive full civil service benefits and military reserve benefits. Military Technicians are a vital link between the US Army Reserves and civil service and are one of the most important keys to combat readiness. The duties of this position include; maintain issue/turn in records manually or electronically; assist in efficient storage and arrangement of materials; conduct periodic inventories; inspect items for quality, damage, or overall performance; perform minor maintenance such as cleaning of tools, parts and equipment after turn in.

What your background should be: This position requires membership in the USAR, a personnel security investigation, a medical examination prior to employment, and a drug abuse-testing program. Applicant must meet the screen out element to consider further. To meet the screen out element, applicant should document experience or show the ability to do the following: check in and sign out items determining when tools and equipment need to be tested, repaired, or calibrated; store and inventory items; and have the ability to read and interpret instructions. Ability to do the work of a Tools and Parts Attendant without more than normal supervision, frequently lifts and carries tools, parts, supplies, and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds, ability to issue and receive materials, ability to maintain stock levels, ability to assess items for damage, ability to interpret and follow instructions.
