Transportation Supervisor

What you'll be doing: Assist in planning/coordinating the scheduling of deliveries. Monitor XATA reports to ensure specific goals regarding speed, idle and RPM are being met by the driver associates. Monitor the miles per gallon fuel consumption reports to ensure specific goals are being met. Train, coach and counsel driver associates on progressive shifting techniques to improve individual and fleet MPG. Handle phone calls and e-mail's from store personnel as well as regional and area supervisors regarding scheduling, load problems, missing products, special orders, dropping trailers, etc. Create driver schedules. Be available to handle problems/questions and help all employees with personal and professional issues. Supervise the dispatch function to ensure that proper procedures are being used to ensure fairness to all drivers.

What your background should be: Excellent communication skills (written and oral) are required to use in meetings and complete necessary reports. Working knowledge of DOT regulations. Basic knowledge of PC and CRT to use in completion of reports and application of XATA, Routing Software (OSI), Trailer Tracking (YMS) and Driver Trippay (CAMS). Knowledge of People Soft preferred. Ability to multi-task. Ability to reach, stoop, bend and lift up to and including 30 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, sitting, driving. Ability to focus for long periods of time on projects.
