What you'll be doing

Organizes and administers individualized, professional patient care to patients within the hospital as directed by the objectives, policies and procedures of the hospital, and in accordance with the state nurse practice act. Supervises nursing staff personnel to assess staff strengths, properly assign appropriate staff, and encourage individual growth within the department. Plans, assigns, assesses and organizes each shift to maximize efficiency, safety and appropriate patient care. Participates in and supervises staff in daily patient care activities, including the nursing admission assessment and treatment plan. Participates in departmental and team meetings to discuss patient care and policies and procedures; makes recommendations regarding changes to nursing services and therapeutic program activities . Assists in the development of policies, procedures and program objectives. Interviews candidates for nursing positions. Participates in new employee training and orientation. Conducts employee evaluations. Orders supplies and equipment and supervises their proper use and maintenance. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations within the unit managers area of responsibility.

What your background should be

One year working experience with children and/or adolescents in a mental health capacity. Supervisory experience in a hospital/residential setting. Current montana registered nursing license. Must maintain CPR certification. Must have valid and current MT driving license.

Required Schooling / Training

Register nurse BS preferred.
