What you'll be doing

Collate admission packet, prepare and facilitate the availability of patient chart and record form. Keep form organized update and revise unit specific form as needed. Stocking, taking inventory and ordering supplies for unit. Answer phones courteously, taking message and routing call appropriately. Monitor and answer unit entrance system. Receive patient, family request and refer to appropriate person for follow up. Direct triage call to the appropriate clinician. Assist patient and families with phone call. Utilize and complete computer based task as needed in a timely manner. Accept errand, delivery task from supervisor. Occasional typing of unit memorandum, short document and project as needed.

What your background should be

One year of previous general office experience preferred. Microsoft work skills required. Excellent communication skills and an ability to relate well to parents and children. Demonstrate the ability to deescalate conflict situation with parent or other department. Ability to prioritize needs of the unit under stressful condition without supervision. Ability to assist unit staff in any appropriate function when indicated.

Required Schooling / Training

High school diploma or equivalent required.
