What you'll be doing

Perform a variety of tasks on the water system and wastewater collection project for U.S government and military installation and private sector client. Perform assignment requiring application of standard technique, procedure, and criteria. Responsible to carry out engineering, construction, rework, repair, maintenance, water system operator training and supervision, system operational documentation and log requirement for water distribution system CC and BFP program and other associated system. Design small municipal scale water filtration and/or wastewater collection system. Coordinate with client and regulatory agency to ensure that project meet regulatory requirements. Stay abreast of regulatory change and new requirements and interpret those that may affect the project. Coordinate with departmental and interdepartmental staff to report on progress of work. Provide technical leadership on selected projects. Perform other duty as required.

What your background should be

Applicant should have 5-15 years minimum experience performing environmental engineering design. Professional engineer (PE) certification preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to function as a leader or as a follower, as conditions dictates, in a team setting. Working knowledge of flow and microbial induced corrosion testing desired. Experience with focus on water and wastewater collection/distribution, storage and treatment. Familiar with the following standards so water distribution system remains in compliance overseas environmental baseline guidance document (OEBGD), NAVFAC performance work statement (PWS) requirements, environmental protective agency (EPA) guidelines, PNDWS etc. Experience with water cad software, sewer gems software, storm sewers, info works CS, and flow master desired. Experience in water supply master planning desired. Experience in the evaluation of water supplies desired. Experience in pipe and tank evaluations desired. U.S. military water systems and overseas experience a plus. Valid U.S. passport with a minimum of six months left before expire date.

Required Schooling / Training

BS degree in civil/environmental engineering or equivalent from an accredited university or college. MS in civil/environmental engineering, sanitary systems mechanical engineer or similar university degrees a plus.
